The Ladder is our monthly column celebrating career achievements, promotions, job changes, and professional accomplishments in the Fulshear business community. This month we highlight individuals and organizations investing in growth, leadership development, and career advancement.

Victoria Hernandez

Director of Community Relations, Cross Creek Ranch

Victoria Hernandez has been promoted to Director of Community Relations for Cross Creek Ranch, managing community events, resident engagement, and external partnerships for the 1,200-acre master-planned community. Hernandez, who joined Cross Creek Ranch two years ago as Community Manager, oversaw the inaugural Harvest Festival last fall which drew over 3,000 residents and guests. In her new role, she will expand programming and deepen Cross Creek Ranch's integration with the broader Fulshear community. Hernandez previously worked in nonprofit community development in the Houston area.

Michael Torres

Senior Loan Officer, First Service Bank

Michael Torres has been promoted to Senior Loan Officer at First Service Bank's Fulshear branch, recognizing his consistent performance and growth in the commercial lending department. Torres, who has been with First Service Bank for five years, has built a strong portfolio of small business and agricultural clients throughout Fort Bend County. His promotion comes as the bank expands its Fulshear operations to support the area's rapid commercial growth. Torres is an active member of the Fulshear Rotary Club and serves on the Young Professionals Council.

Jennifer Wong

Regional Marketing Manager, Harvest & Hearth Restaurant

Jennifer Wong has joined Harvest & Hearth as Regional Marketing Manager as the farm-to-table restaurant prepares for its February opening on FM 1093. Wong brings more than twelve years of restaurant marketing experience from upscale establishments in Austin and San Antonio. In her new role, Wong will oversee brand development, community partnerships, and promotional initiatives to establish Harvest & Hearth as a destination dining experience. She is developing collaborative relationships with local farms, food writers, and cultural organizations to build awareness and foot traffic.

Dr. Arthur Chen

School Psychologist Excellence Award Recipient

Dr. Arthur Chen, school psychologist at Fulshear High School, has been recognized with the Fort Bend Independent School District Excellence in Student Services Award. The honor recognizes Chen's innovative mental health and wellness programming, including peer support initiatives and cultural competency training for staff. Under Chen's leadership, Fulshear High School has expanded its mental health resources and created a peer-led mentoring program that has helped reduce disciplinary referrals while improving overall student wellbeing. Chen joined Fulshear ISD three years ago and has quickly become a valued member of the school community.

David Patel

Founder and CEO, RiverTech Solutions

David Patel has launched RiverTech Solutions, a software consulting firm focusing on business process automation and digital transformation for mid-market companies. Based in downtown Fulshear, the firm opened its doors in January and has already secured clients in the manufacturing and distribution sectors. Patel previously worked as a senior consultant at a Houston-based technology firm and brings fifteen years of experience in enterprise software implementation. He chose Fulshear as the location for his startup because of the growing business community and strong quality of life factors that support attracting and retaining talented employees.

Amelia Mitchell

Executive Vice President, Chamber of Commerce Elected Board

Amelia Mitchell, owner of Mitchell's Bookstore & Café in downtown Fulshear, has been elected Executive Vice President of the Fulshear Area Chamber of Commerce. Mitchell's election recognizes her two years of active service on the Chamber's board and her advocacy for downtown revitalization initiatives. As EVP, Mitchell will oversee membership development and community business programming. She is particularly focused on expanding networking opportunities for entrepreneurs and small business owners and strengthening the Chamber's role in supporting new business openings along the FM 1093 corridor.

James Whitfield

Founder and Owner, Fulshear Brewing Co.

James Whitfield's Fulshear Brewing Co. will officially open its doors February 25 in downtown Fulshear. The craft brewery represents Whitfield's first entrepreneurial venture and represents a significant investment in Fulshear's downtown revitalization. Whitfield is expanding the local job market by hiring taproom staff, production assistants, and administrative personnel. The brewery has already begun recruiting a Head Brewmaster and is actively seeking local talent to help launch the operation. Whitfield's commitment to building a community-focused business has garnered strong local support and interest.
